The Government has launched a new version of the How to Rent guide for the private rented sector in England. The How to Rent guide is designed to help tenants understand the process of renting a property in the private rented sector. It outlines what they need to expect in terms of costs and what they should expect from their landlords in terms of paperwork.
The new guide is called How to Rent – a guide for current and prospective tenants. With immediate effect, you must ensure that you are issuing the updated guide to tenants in England when they start or renew their tenancies.
The guide can be given as a hard copy or sent by email. It is best viewed online as it contains hyperlinks.
